September 1st & 2nd Rides

Title: Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade

Where:
Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade Festival Plaza parking lot, under the Hawthorne Bridge at SE Main off of SE Water Ave in Portland.
Description:

Title: Willamette Mission State Park
When: 2007/09/02 10:00AM - 2:00PM
Where:
Wheatland Rd., 8 mi. N of Salem, or take I-5 Exit 263 and follow the signs.

Description: Eight miles of trails run along the Willamette River, with an incredible amount of native birds, plants and wildlife. There are picnic shelters, electricity, restrooms, water faucets, picnic tables, fire rings, sunny areas and trees for shade, plus ample room for parking. For those that enjoy water, there's Mission Lake and the Willamette River. There are grassy meadows surrounded by an array of flowers, plants, and trees.

August 18th & 19th Rides


Title: Fort Stevens State Park
When: 2007/08/18

Where:
Fort Stevens State Park (Seaside, OR). Follow the signs to the 'Historic Military Sight'. We will meet in the parking lot.
Description: The Fort Stevens Military Reservation guarded the mouth of the
Columbia River from the Civil War until WWII. The park has more than five miles of hiking trails and seven miles of bike paths. The Oregon Coast Trail begins at the South Jetty and continues along the beach. Check Ride Details for a map, driving directions and a complete description of the trail. Bring a picnic lunch and water; there is no food service in the park. Accessible restrooms are available.

Title: Puget Island
When: 2007/08/19

Where:
Puget Island, Westport, OR. On the Oregon Side: Take highway 30 to Westport, Oregon, follow signage. Ferry landing is approximately 1/2 mile from the highway. The ferry leaves from the Oregon side on the ¼ after the hour from 5:15 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.
Description: Saty and Donna will be your hosts on this ride. The ride is on flat low trafficked country roads without a shoulder. There are no accessible food services on the island so bring water and a lunch. There is a small park on the island; however, the restrooms are not easily accessible and are not always open. It is strongly recommended that you bring a spare inner tube and basic bike tools.
