
If I can get the crack in my frame welded in time we will go on next weeks rides listed below. NO I WAS NOT RIDING THE RAMPS IN THE SKATE PARK. I figured you would ask; but, actually there is no event I can associate this with. Perhaps after nearly 5000 miles my beloved handcycle has gone kaput. This is the second break due to what seems to be fatigue within a year. Please contribute any advice you may have on its repair in the comments on this blog.

Title: Waterfront Renaissance Trail

Where: Meet at Wintler Park Situated on the bank of the Columbia River.
Description: This 14-foot-wide, shared-use concrete trail is the crowning jewel of Vancouver's Columbia River Waterfront Renaissance, connecting the downtown area to the city's long-neglected shoreline. The trail follows the Columbia River, passing Vancouver Landing, the Captain Vancouver Monument and the plaza dedicated to Ilchee, a Native Indian chief's daughter.
The Water Resources Education Center lies along the trail, as do the Old Apple Tree, Marine Park, Kaiser Viewing Tower and Shipyards, and Tidewater Cove. Along the way are shops, restaurants and great places to picnic, play or just enjoy the view. The trail will continue east with the future Wintler Park extension. Description: FernHill Wetlands is 243 acres composed largely of wetland and moist soil habitats. We will pass by a buffalo ranch and Pacific University. This ride has some hills and is about 12 miles long. From Portland, travel west on U.S. 26 approximately twenty miles. Turn onto Oregon 47 at Banks and continue south through Forest Grove for a total of seven or eight miles and turn left onto Fern Hill Road. Continue approximately 400 yards to the Fernhill Wetlands parking area. Wheelchair-accessible unpaved trail.
