
Wheel-A-Thon Portland

Independent Living Resources is proud to offer this new event to kick off National Disability Awareness Month.
This first-ever ILR Wheel-A-Thon will help us to:
- Generate much-needed funds for Independent Living Resources, a region-wide provider of Advocacy, Information and Referral, Peer Counseling and Skills Training for people with disabilities! See attached fact sheet and www.ilr.org for more information.
- Raise region-wide awareness of the accessibility of our parks system, which is at the forefront of making our outdoors truly usable for people with disabilities!
- Celebrate health and independence for people with disabilities and the benefits we all share from increased mobility and activity!
- Wheel-A-Thon Participants will complete a course in order to earn donations for Independent Living Resources.
- Participants will recruit personal pledges based on event participation.
- A picnic, prizes and celebration of National Disability Awareness Month highlight the event.
This family-oriented event welcomes wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, bicycles, roller blades, and skateboards at Portland’s Eastbank Esplanade with a picnic, prizes and celebration of National Disabilities Awareness Month at Eastbank Esplanade to end the afternoon.
